I'll stamp all over 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
